History

Spend a moment winding your way through the first and second floors to explore the history of the courthouse and square, from the building’s early years to the turbulent events of the Rowan County War and the key figures who shaped it. This display offers an introduction to Morehead’s past—and if you’re looking for even more local history, be sure to visit our neighbors at the Rowan County Veterans Museum.

As part of the Turtle Walk, these artist‑designed turtles highlight local creativity and the town’s connection to the Sheltowee Trace, inviting guests to explore art both inside the RCAC and throughout downtown.
